North Jersey Friendship House – New Outdoor Patio

This organization has meant a lot to Sue McKendry Auer’s family. Friendship House provides training and employment opportunities for adults with learning disabilities and/or autism. Sue’s brother Brian was active in their programs for many years and really loved the time he spent there. Sue’s dad, John McKendry, served on their Board for many years applying his accounting background to help them manage their programs and budgets.

This past year in lieu of holiday gifts, John suggested that the family donate towards a project to create a new outdoor patio facility at Friendship House. The Dan Auers (Sue, Dan, Tim, Andre, Ellie, Steven & Stephanie) made donations towards the project and leveraged the Aue Family Foundation’s matching donation program to double the amount of their contributions.

The patio was recently completed and is by all accounts is a big success. Here are photos of John McKendry and his wife Audrie at the ground breaking and dedication ceremonies
