In a flash, Dawn’s notary practice will be 25 years old in 2024. \u00a0 To mark the milestone, we will have various charitable initiatives recognising the international flavour of our work, as well as charities local to our main areas of Epsom, Cobham, Weybridge, Dorking, Farnborough and London. \u00a0We will also have a specific 2024 stamp. \u00a0Dawn will be interviewing some of her longstanding clients to discern key insights during 2024 and speaking to the next generation about how they see the world – please contact her if you would like to be involved. \u00a0When Dawn first started, documents always had to be sewn (!) and notarial practice was considred archaic. \u00a0Whilst numbers of notaries remain less than 750 in England and Wales, there remains a steady flow of new entrants to the profession and with that new approaches to delivering notarial practice. \u00a0Dawn remembers a time in 1999 when a client remarked on opening their door ‘But you can’t be the notary, you are a young woman’<\/strong>. \u00a0Since 1999, countries have split, political diplomacy has changed,\u00a0borders have changed, countries have gone in and out of transaction\u00a0favour\u00a0(we have been around long enough to see trends), UK is\u00a0out of EU, and\u00a0being ‘international’ is commonplace for UK business. \u00a0All of this has impacted the work Dawn and her\u00a0team do. \u00a0We are seeing technology compliment practice management, and\u00a0electronic notarisation and e-Apostille beginning to make its mark.
