About Us
The Bison Wrestling Club originated in 2015 by the North Dakota State University coaches and staff. The purpose of the club is to help promote the sport of wrestling to our community stake-holders; help provide World and Olympic aspirations for resident athletes; and help make the athletes that compete for North Dakota State University competitive in the Big 12 Conference and at the NCAA Division 1 level. The BWC is a registered regional training center (RTC) with USA Wrestling, and is geared towards providing opportunities for local youth, high school, college, and senior level athletes to train for the respective sports. As part of the State of North Dakota, the Bison Wrestling Club is a tax-exempt organization 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Our Mission
The BWC was formed to promote interest in the sport of wrestling among parents and the youth of North Dakota to supervise, sponsor, and financially assist a disciplined and competitive program of wrestling. Our goal is to foster our athletes to compete at the highest levels of national and international amateur wrestling competitions in Folkstyle, Freestyle, and Greco-Roman wrestling. We will endeavor to develop in the members the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, discipline, respect for authority, and to stress the concept of mutual responsibility in all club activities so that the organization and the sport of Wrestling will be strengthened in the process.
