Brandon Metz wins U23 Nationals; qualifies for U23 UWW World Championships in Serbia
The U23 UWW Greco-Roman/Freestyle National Championships were held in Lincoln, Nebraska this past weekend. The Bison Wrestling Club had six wrestlers completing in both Greco-Roman and Freestyle. the highlight of the weekend came in the 130kg Greco-Roman division. BWC’s Brandon Metz came away with the title defeating Spencer Trenary of the Jackrabbit WC in a best of three championships match. Metz won bout one by fall in :44 seconds and came away with a 5-0 decision in bout two. With those two wins Metz will represent the United State team at the UWW U23 World Championships which will be held in Belgrade, Serbia November 1-7. Metz opened the tournament with a 5-0 win over SIU Edwardsville’s Colton McKiernan, then defeated SDSU’s Bowen McConville 8-0 in the quarterfinals before a 4-1 victory over Nebraska-Kearney’s Lee Herrington in the semifinals.

2020-21 Youth season registration
Below is the link to get registered for the youth wrestling season. Start date is scheduled for Monday, November 2nd. Please make sure you look at the times your child need to be to practice. K-2nd grade will go from 5-6 pm with 3rd-8th grade going from from 6-7:30 pm. We will have to adapt based off of skill level and/or family situation with multiple athletes and time. BWC finishes 2nd in Class C division.
The Bison Youth Wrestling Club took to the mats this past weekend in Omaha, NE at the 2021 Winter Nationals. Eight BWC athletes participated in a very competitive tournament. Jack Clemenson; who wrestled at 70 pounds in the Midget Division (ages 9-10); finished in 3rd place with a 6-2 record in the tournament. Clemenson wrestled all the way back to the true-second place match but came up short losing 4-0. Clemenson led the tournament in pins with 6.
